Hair pens, game, ice cream

From the other side of the ocean and the other side of a continent, coraa taught me a new skill today! I grew up with short hair, and never really did experiment much with what I could do now that my hair is long. Today, she taught me how to use hair sticks or, what I actually used, pens, to hold up my hair. It worked on the first try! It stays up for hours!

When not learning skills that many of you had probably mastered by the time you were in kindergarten, I've been playing my new birthday game, Mercury Meltdown Revolution. I bet most of you had to have been at least in elementary school before you were good at ball-rolling games.

In even less adult-sounding news, I thought a lot about ice cream today. (A skill gainable by the age of two or three, perhaps?) But more on that another time.

I'm so glad it worked for you!

I have fine, recalcitrant hair, am averse to hairspray, and have very little hairstyling mojo, and so I spent years trying to figure out how to get my hair off my neck effectively. I'll admit, I was shocked that a pencil or chopstick could hold it up more easily and effectively than a fleet of fancy hair supplies.

Your beautiful hair is just begging for hair sticks!

I love hairsticks but find them sadly incompatible with the hat.
