Audience Figures

Counting informally, for the Sunday of Newcon only -

Panel: Is Space Opera Still Relevant?
- Audience was 80% male, about 30 attendees

Panel: Celtic Fantasy vs Vampire Fiction
- Audience was about 50% for each gender, about 20 attendees

Ian Watson in conversation with Ian Watson as Paul McAuley
- Audience was about 50% for each gender. (No #s, but in the 20-30 range.)

I'm glad I went. Good to see lots of people and meet lots of new ones, and the day was lovely and sunny in the indoors Fishmarket. It was gratifying to see the Iron Cupcake posters in the café.

Also, contrary to this morning's announcement, 10 10 10 10 10 is not 42 in binary; even if it is a nifty sequence of numbers.

Re: Hello!
Hello! It was nice to meet you too. I was tired enough after one day of conventioning - I know I missed various people who were only there on Saturday, but didn't mind not feeling entirely worn out from convention-going. It's hard work being social all day long!

I am suddenly wondering what Derrida-the-breakfast-cereal would be like.

They'd be little squares of processed wheat and mixed, dried berries. They'd be called Obscurrants. It'd be really hard to figure out what the exact flavour is, but if you didn't like it his picture on the box would call you an idiot for not understanding.
