Medieval Recipe Plagiarism Scandal!

A medieval recipe plagiarism scandal is sweeping the internet!

To be fair, it was the contextualization and modern adaptation which really made it plagiarizable. If you haven't already run across discussions of it, they're worth reading for a professional editor who claims that everything on the internet is public domain, amongst other assertions.

In other news, I must have gone to the Ton too soon for there to have been anyone else there.

I also made it to the British Library to look at really cute tiny little seventeenth-century books, barely bigger than a credit card, and the British Museum to look at absolutely gigantic sixteenth-century prints, so big that I had to take up several peoples' worth of desk space to see them.

I'd love to say that such ignorant attitudes to copyright aren't found in more genuinely professional circles, but I'd be lying. See my recent locked rant!
