This past year, I made very good use of local cousel council services, including gaining the right to vote in the UK, along with citizenship, and getting married. I worked on a couple of different academic articles, gave three conference papers, one of which was at a surprise conference in honor of my PhD supervisor's retirement, quite possibly the only surprise conference I will ever attend. I did a fair amount of traveling (see below), and day-tripped Leicester a number of times. I joined the boards of SHMTS and the SFF, and began the process of taking on Vector for the BSFA. I had a number of amazing meals, including my first three-star Michelin restaurant. The best meal of the year was at The Square in central London.
