Ice cream sandwiches

We started discussing ice cream sandwiches last night, apropos of the next Android OS. C. wasn't entirely sure what an ice cream sandwich even is.

Save me a potentially-fruitless trip to the grocery story, oh LJ: are ice cream sandwiches commercially available in the UK?

Nope, absolutely not -- and as you see, there's no tradition of them in any context, even home made. The canonical biscuits you get in ice cream sandwiches don't really exist here; sort of like a softer larger version of an Oreo.

You could just eat Arctic roll.

And as for Graham crackers...

Oh, Graham crackers are one US foodstuff that I wish I could get more easily over here. 'Smores are completely unknown here, because of their absence. mind you, since I became vegetarian, I can't have 'smores anyway, on account of the marshmallows.
