Today I checked out a 30+ page pamphlet from the beginning of the 20th century. Most of the pages haven't been cut yet. This is the first time I've had to do more than just one or two of them in a single manuscript. There's something that feels slightly immoral about slicing open bits of a library book, and knowing it's a perfectly licit activity.
