Fishy Circumstances

Proposal writing

I may be fidgeting, but at least I have the word count I need for my K'zoo proposal (finally). Thing is, the more I look at it, the more I think maybe it fits the CFP for the CMS at U of T conference more than the Avista session.

My proposal doesn't hit as many of the keywords in the session as I'd like. Part of my inferiority complex on this particular point is that I felt it important that I apply to give a paper on a subject related to my dissertation. For the past year or so I've been coasting in a way, giving conference papers on the subject I already know lots about, my MA thesis. And AVISTA's CFP sounds like it might suit my MA thesis material a bit better than my current material. Yes, it definitely, undoubtedly covers and art and technology, but is there anything remotely scientific about it? Oh well. Hopefully if they don't go with it, I can at least make it into a General Session.

The case of the missing emails

Somewhere out there, in the world of electrons, wires, routers, and servers, I have some emails. I know I do since I sent myself some. And Kevin sent me on which C. received hours and hours ago. And LJ should be sending me an auto-email to let me know that rhiannon76 left me a delightful reply last night. Last night!

Hmmm... it looks as if its the alumnae account which is to blame. I had some of my addresses forwarding there, and they were the ones I wasn't receiving. Well, at least the owlfish addresses won't be affected by that anymore. I hope all the messages make it through eventually anyways. Come back to me, my emails!

Update: Hurray! The backlog of owlfish messages have all come through. Now it's only my two main email addresses which are affected. All LJ related email will arrive safely... it's just everything else I'll miss out on until this clears up.
