Fishy Circumstances

New and Improved

The list of Medievalists with Weblogs is now much more versatile! You can view it sorted by name, type, or by frequency of medieval-relevant postings. It can also now include aliases, for weblogs which are referred to by varying names. If you don't like any of the sorting details, let me know, since the sort methods are now easy to change, and can be further refined.

Page generation and keeping track of the information is now much easier too. All this was made possible by some whizzy scripts written by Colin, using python and SimpleTAL. I hadn't needed to use TAL before this, but I have to say, it's a remarkably simple and powerful way to generate html!

Life of Riley

Thanks to the reference in PvP, I started reading Life of Riley this week. I finished reading it too, or at least, as much as has been written thus far. It was a little slow getting into the comic, and it's not all that funny, but I really like the characters and the plot arcs, including a paintball game of epic proportions, played for the sake of the world's ongoing existence.

This, plus PhD plus Dragon Mango has doubled the number of webcomics I'm now following in the last few weeks. Fortunately, most of them are weekly.
