There's going to be a Tristan and Isolde movie. It starts filming in August.

My main association with this story is from the year I spent in secondary school in London. We read the Rosemary Sutcliff version towards the end of the year, and my classmates made me a tape of a play-version of it before I left.

The bad news is that the leading growth of the clematis has broken. Luckily, there's a smaller leader growing out of the bottom, so all is not lost. Everything else seems to be thriving, thanks to, or in spite of, all the rain. The scotch moss hasn't suffered from whatever was trying to dig under it the other day, and, with the exception of the problematic honeysuckle, everything else has put on a growth spurt in the past few days.

So far, the raccoons don't seem to have come back.
