Edna was a stalwart of her family, mild-mannered matriarch, and housewife. Hers was the substantial fruit and vegetable garden, hers the feeding of the family. Her jigsaw-puzzle abilities were, within the family, legendary. However warm a flame, some things are beyond human control. One such was the cancer which taxed her body until, the other week, it could handle no more. Her husband, four children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grand child, scattered from Leipzig to Iceland, survive her.
