I wish the honeysuckle would have come back, but it never vined much more than it already is. Halfway through each of the last summers, it became diseased and the blossoms shriveled away. If the morning glory becomes sturdy enough before the squirrels and racoons get to it, I should finally have flowers enough to last me through the season to frost.
Today I visited M and J's home for the first time, for post-softball pizza. In their garden, they have a tiny peach tree with small half-formed peaches looking lovely and peach-like on its branches. They can't compete with the squirrels, who knock them down and half eat them before they grow too large. Also in their garden grows Thai coriander, which has a strange and disconcerting smell. I'm not quite sure what to make of it.
