HP Casting

Luna Lovegood, Professor Umbridge, Tonks, Bellatrix Lestrange, Mrs. Figg and other HP roles have been cast. Given how notably missing Luna was from the last movie, it's nice to know she's not been completely written out of the movie series. (The article link is to a CBBC article. I'm sure you can all track down better news coverage than that.)

This reminds me: moving to England has been bad for my rate of movie consumption. It's not that there aren't theaters around; but they're more expensive, and with C. finally working real hours - unlike in Toronto - he's less likely to be up for going out in the evening on a whim.

Imelda Staunton is fantastic casting, I think!

I'm not sure I've even heard of any of the other actors.

Oooh! I like Loony, she's pretty and an obvious nutter already :>

But Luna isn't in book four, how could she be missing from the movie?

You're right, now that I check on it, although I could have sworn she was somehow involved in the not-present-in-the-movie book 4 animagus plotline. She's upper year enough that she's been theoretically around the school for the previous book or two, but not actually mentioned.

I thought she was, too -- somehow connected to the Rita Skeeter thing, but I guess not.

And I'm not sure about Imelda Staunton -- I thought of Umbridge as being older and much, much uglier.

I saw very few movies in London. Live theatre is only a little more expensive and if it comes down to the two, well, Serenity might have won out, but nothing much else in the last few years. If you have your student card still, last minute theatre is even cheaper! I miss that.

Good point! Until calendar year's end, I have my student card.

Will you be seeing the LOTR musical?

Low on my list, didn't like the books or the movies. Please don't shoot me. May end up seeing in simply becasue there's no other theatre, but I'd rather save the money for my next London trip. Evita's opening there, and Wicked in SEpt. And Wicked will be back here in OCt.

I'm not going to shoot you unless every reviewer in the world reviews it with extreme enthusiasm. Keep up your standards! I haven't even read one review yet, but it's early days yet. Of course, I do somewhat like the books and movies, but I see no reason why everyone else needs to. I'm excited that Wicked's opening sooner here than I'd remembered!
