what time were you out watching for the female elite runners and the wheelchair runners? They were considerably earlier than the male elites. We were lucky to catch them!

I knew they'd started a good 45 minutes earlier, but didn't go down to watch until I heard rare and random cheering - which means on its own I would have missed them in first direction. I then went to watch people heading back from the Isle of Dogs (since we're surrounded by runners heading in both directions). It was several minutes before anyone at all showed up, and that was a lone female runner - I must have already missed the women and wheelchair leaders by then, although I would estimate it was at least 4-5 minutes more before I saw any wheelchair marathoners at all.

Yay! Maybe I'll be there one day (at least for the half...). But far, far behind these amazing women.

Tomorrow I'll post photos of the people you'll be far ahead of! I didn't watch the bulk of the runners this year - had a leisurely lunch instead - but caught front runners and the people still intrepidly walking 6 hours after the race had begun.
