In reality: what is 'The Forbidden Corner'? Is it a pub? That would be a great name for a pub.

It started life as a garden folly and is now, according to its website, a touristic destination. http://www.theforbiddencorner.co.uk/

We weren't going there (sign was spotted on an a countryside walk just outside the Dales village of East Witton), so that's about all I know of it.

Forbidden corner
You're in our stomping ground! We love it round Middleham and Masham. :-)

Just so. It is forbidden; ergo, there is no access.

Unless you're King of the Britons, of course.

The Forbidden Corner is ace, but rather scary - the way in only opens inwards so once you're in you have to go round till you find the way out and there's no map, so you can be there for hours - it's like a maze but a totally random one. It's all landscaped with weird surprises like random sprays of water and stepping stones that tip up and land you in the water and underground tunnels that appear to lead places but actually just get smaller so you get stuck. Can you tell it freaked me out?

Oooh, I love the forbiden corner. I rarely remember to book far enough in advance to get a ticket though.
